Research Interest
Dr. Anderson’s research portfolio studies the prescribing and deprescribing of older adults’ chronic medications, the impact of hospitalization on patients’ chronic disease trajectories, and care delivery for medically complex populations. His research methodologies include retrospective studies of insurance and pharmacy claims databases, national surveys, and electronic health records, prospective cohort studies using mixed methods, and interventional trials targeting clinician and patient behavior. He is currently funded by a National Institute of Aging K76 Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging and an American Heart Association Career Development Award. Dr. Anderson also serves as an associate editor the Journal of General Internal Medicine.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Anderson is a board-certified general internist who sees adult patients in the General Internal Medicine Office at UPMC Montefiore.
Educational Interest
