Robert M. Rogers Lectureship was established in 2001 to honor the
career of Dr. Robert M. Rogers, the former Chief and Professor
of Medicine of the PACCM Division. Among Dr. Rogers' many accomplishments,
this lectureship highlights his longstanding commitment to physician
education and fellowship training. Each year the speaker is chosen
by the fellows of the PACCM Training Program. |

2007 Robert M. Rogers Lectureship
Speaker: Aron B. Fisher, MD
- June 1, 2007: “The Important Role of Peroxiredoxin VI, a Novel Bi-functional Enzyme, in Lung Anti-oxidant Defense and Surfactant Homeostasis”
Dr. Fisher is a Professor of Physiology and Environmental Medicine, a Professor of Medicine, and the Director of the Institute for Environmental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
2006 Robert M. Rogers Lectureship
Speaker: Richard J. Martin, MD
- June 2, 2006: “Asthma is an Infectious Disease”
Dr. Martin is a Professor of Medicine and the Head of the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center. He is also the Vice-Chair of the Department of Medicine, National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver, Colorado.
2005 Robert M. Rogers Lectureship
Speaker: James C. Hogg, MD, PhD
- June 10, 2005: "Small Airways Revisited, the Nature of Airflow Limitation in COPD"
Dr. Hogg is a Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia, as well as the founder of the iCapture Centre for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Research in Vancouver, British Columbia.
2004 Robert M. Rogers Lectureship
Speaker: Adam Wanner, MD
- June 1, 2004: "Hormonal Regulations of Airway Blood Flow"
Dr. Wanner is the Division Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, as well as the Joseph Weintraub Professor of Medicine, Pediatrics, and Biomedical Engineering in the Department of Medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
2003 Robert M. Rogers Lectureship
Speaker: Michael A. Matthay, MD
- June 5, 2003: "Resolution of Pulmonary Edema: New Insights"
Dr. Matthay is a Professor of Medicine and Anesthesia at the University of California at San Francisco and a Senior Associate at the Cardiovascular Research Institute. He is also the Director of the Critical Care Medicine Training in the Department of Medicine and Associate Director of the Intensive Care Unit at the University of California at San Francisco.

Speaker: Marvin I. Schwarz, MD

Dr. Schwarz is The James C. Campbell Professor of Pulmonary Medicine and Head, Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado.
