Profile
Dr Hsu's research interests focus on gene expression and fibroblast activity in systemic sclerosis (SSc)-associated pulmonary fibrosis. Under the mentorship of Dr. Carol Feghali-Bostwick, Dr Hsu studies the role of insulin-like growth factors in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis in SSc. Using whole lung tissue and primary fibroblasts derived from lung tissue of patients with SSc, she hopes to identify mechanisms involved in excessive extracellular matrix production in SSc-associated pulmonary fibrosis.
