Monday
Fellow Research
in Progress Conference is held every other Monday from Noon to 1:00
PM. Fellows give a formal presentation of their research.
Tuesday
PACCM
Joint Collaborative Conference is held every Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This conference provides pulmonary faculty and staff an opportunity to hear speakers from throughout the University environment outline their current biomedical research efforts in order to facilitate expanded collaborations.

Wednesday
Journal Club is held every Wednesday from Noon to 1:00 PM. This conference provides a forum for the fellow to critically review a published article in Pulmonary or Critical Care Medicine.
Thursday
Case Conference alternates with Topic Review every Thursday from Noon to 1:00 PM. During case conference, assigned fellows informally present 2-3 interesting cases followed by a brief discussion of teaching or “take home” points. Topic review consists of a formal, in-depth, literature review of a topic in Pulmonary or Critical Care Medicine by an assigned fellow.
Sleep Medicine
Conference is held each Thursday from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. This conference
provides information about both clinical and research aspects of sleep-disordered
breathing.
Friday
Radiology Conference is held every Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 AM. During this conference, Dr. Carl Fuhrman, Chief of Thoracic Imaging, reviews the radiographic manifestations of lung disease.
Pulmonary
Grand Rounds (PGR) is held each Friday from Noon to 1:00 PM. PGR
and consists of lectures by external and internal speakers.
Special Conferences:
Fundamentals
in Basic Research is held each summer for PACCM fellows. This course provides a comprehensive overview of concepts in laboratory research, including a hands-on laboratory experience. Participants from outside the PACCM division are welcome based upon space availability.
Pittsburgh
International Lung Conference is held annually in the fall of the year. This conference brings together internationally recognized authorities in specific areas of lung disease for a comprehensive three-day seminar.
Robert
M. Rogers Lectureship is held annually in honor of Dr. Robert M. Rogers, the former chief of the PACCM Division.
