Research Interest
Dr. Givelber’s academic focus is in clinical education at the medical student, resident and fellow level. She teaches critical appraisal of the medical literature, and techniques to apply research studies to the care of individual patients.
She is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine, and serves as the associate director of the pulmonary fellowship, and the director of the Evidence-Based Residency Curriculum for the internal medicine residency program.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Givelber splits her clinical time between inpatient consultation, and outpatient consultation and ongoing care of all types of lung disease. She has particular interest in sleep disorders, and the relation between sleep apnea and other medical conditions, such as congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension and diabetes.
