Profile
The focus of the Parikh laboratory is in the area of clinical trials of oral or topical antiretroviral agents for HIV prevention. We serve as the Core Virology Lab for the Microbicide Trials Network (MTN). Our goals are to confirm virologic endpoints and perform drug resistance testing for all MTN studies, to provide technical and troubleshooting assistance in virology-related issues to MTN trial sites, to educate MTN about HIV drug resistance, to help implement existing MTN protocols and develop new MTN protocols, and to develop state-of-the-art virologic methods to address research questions in MTN trials.
