Area of Specialization/Research Interest
Genes expressed by Candida Albicans in Human Host
Identification of Aspergillus fumigatus virulence factors
Association of Candida albicans DNA damage responses with morphogenesis and virulence.

Profile
Dr. Nguyen' laboratories are interested in the study of genes that are expressed by Candida albicans in the human host during mucosal candidiasis and disseminated candidiasis. We hypothesize that selected in vivo expressed genes are important virulence factors for Candida, and can serve as targets for diagnostic and/or vaccine against candidiasis.
