Profile
Dr. Cranston is an Associate Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in 1990 and holds United Kingdom Boards in General Internal Medicine, a Fellowship in HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infection, and a Doctorate in Medicine based on research performed at UCSF, San Francisco.

Dr. Cranston’s research interests encompass biomedical HIV prevention in men who have sex with men, and human papillomavirus associated anal dysplasia management in at risk populations. He is an investigator in the AIDS clinical trials group, AIDS malignancy consortium, Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study, and Microbicide Trials Network in addition to a number of investigator initiated projects.

Dr. Cranston is Medical Director of the University of Pittsburgh Anal Dysplasia Clinic and Research Program and works clinically at the Pittsburgh AIDS Center for Treatment and Magee-Womens Hospital.
