Area of Specialization/Research Interest
Candida albicans Rfx proteins, DNA damage responses and virulence
C. albicans histone methylation and the regulation of virulence gene expression.
Identification of Aspergillus fumigatus virulence factors.

Profile
Dr. Clancy's laboratories are interested in the molecular pathogenesis of invasive infections caused by the fungi Candida albicans and Aspergillus fumigatus. They have implicated several novel genes in both organisms that contribute to the pathogenesis of candidiasis and aspergillosis. Biologic processes related to these genes that are studied in the lab include histone methylation and transcriptional regulation, DNA damage responses, and phosphoinositide regulation.
