Profile
Deborah McMahon, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases, director of its HIV-AIDS Unit, and has a secondary appointment in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology in the Graduate School of Public Health. She is the Medical Director of the AIDS Clinical Research Unit, which conducts ACTG and industry sponsored clinical trials. She works closely with Dr. Mellors and also sees patients in the HIV Primary Care Center. Dr. McMahon is the Director of HRSA-funded Pitt HIV Early Intervention Project, which provides testing and counseling services as well as primary care services to over 900 HIV-infected men and women in Western Pennsylvania. She interacts extensively with fellows in the clinical care of AIDS patients and in the implementation of AIDS clinical trials.
