The Section of Hospital Medicine is based in the Division of General Internal Medicine.
The division has a long-standing tradition of excellence in patient care, education, and research.
The section is composed of board-certified internists whose main interests involve applying the most current evidence-based care to inpatients at UPMC Presbyterian and UPMC Montefiore. The hospitalist program invites community-based internists and family practitioners across western Pennsylvania to admit their patients to these hospitals under the care of a full-time, hospital-based faculty member. The hospitalist physicians coordinate both routine and highly specialized care and are committed to excellent communication with patients and their referring physicians throughout the hospital stay.
