Profile
Dr. McAdams has been with the Division of General Internal Medicine since 1998, when he completed his residency training at UPMC. He serves mainly as a hospitalist at UPMC Montifiore and UPMC Presbyterian. In this capacity, Dr. McAdams provides care and medical treatment to his medical partners' patients when they are admitted to the hospital. He also provides medical consultative services, acts as the medical director for the medical stepdown units, helps manage the hospitalist services at UPMC, and is a quality improvement officer for the Department of Medicine at UPMC. His primary interests revolve around inpatient services and include inpatient billing, overall quality improvement, and development of a hosptialist training program. He is also very active in teaching at the medical school and residency levels.
