Clinical Interest
Dr. Cook sees patients in palliative care consultation in the inpatient setting, assisting patients and clinicians with communication regarding goals of care as well as pain and symptom management in patients with life-limiting illness. She has a special interest in the palliative care of patients with neurologic disease.
Educational Interest
Dr. Cook’s educational interest is to inspire compassionate physicians through teaching palliative care and communications skills. She has a special interest in teaching clinicians in using communication skills to address patients’ religious concerns and distress. She also teaches palliative care and communication skills to medical trainees (fellows, residents, and students) as well as practicing clinicians. She is also interested in the application of palliative care and communication skills in neurology. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Medical Education.
